Do you have a ukulele?  If not, there is a WIDE selection of colors, materials, sizes, shapes, tunings and prices from which to choose.  Talk to an experienced player who owns a few different types before you buy.  Our leaders are here to help you get started.  Here are some suggested music stores that carry a good variety of ukuleles:
  • Island Bazaar (aka Ukulele Paradise!)
  • Jim's Music Center
  • Guitar Center
Do you know how to play?   If not, there are a few
local independent teachers out there that will provide individual lessons.  This is the best and fastest way to
learn. We'll try to help you find one.  In the meantime,
there are several videos on Youtube.com that can help
you get your feet wet.  Try "Ukulele Mike" for starters.
If you would like to get started on your own, click the
button below to access the Aloha Strummers'
"Let's Play Ukulele!" beginner songbook.  It was
designed to be printed and assembled as a booklet.
Where else can I play with a group in Orange County?   There are ukulele groups playing almost every day of the week.  Here are a few local ones.  It's a good idea to confirm before visiting, as their schedules periodically change.
